This Week in Washington ...
This week, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 was signed by President Obama. This $787 billion economic stimulus bill has elements that benefit community colleges and our students, including: an additional $500 increase in the Pell Grant Award, funding for job training, a new $2,500 tax credit and “stabilization funds” for Texas infrastructure.
