Committee Meetings
In last week’s update, we referenced SB 1052, which relates to tuition credits for students who complete the core curriculum at two-year public institutions of higher education. Dr. Lassiter registered DCCCD’s support for this bill when it was heard by the Senate Subcommittee on Higher Education on Monday. The bill now moves to the full Senate Education Committee. On Wednesday, DCCCD’s purchasing director, Philip Todd, testified before the Senate Subcommittee on Higher Education in support of SB 1064, which addresses community college purchasing provisions. The bill was supported by the subcommittee and now moves to the Senate Education Committee for further consideration. [read the bill]
