Committee Meetings
On Monday, the House Higher Education Committee heard several bills specifically related to community colleges. Dr. Steve Mittelstet, president of Richland College, testified on behalf of HB 2032, which is related to African-American studies programs at community colleges. A total of 10 bills related to community colleges were heard on Monday. Read more about HB 2032.

Another bill discussed during the hearing was HB 381; it encourages state agencies to use community colleges to provide training for employees. Although this bill probably will be watered down, it could be of tremendous benefit for DCCCD. Read more about Read more about HB 381.
