Like most CAPs, the Multi-Service Center is continually reassessing its processes to make sure it operates effectively and efficiently, both now and in the future. But when the Administrative Team met about a year ago and started looking around the table at their “mature” staff, they realized that something was missing: Leadership Development.

Community Action Agencies have a huge return on the investment of federal, state and local funds that are used to provide vital services to individuals and families to become more self-sufficient.

About 1,600 students from low-income families in north and east King County will need help to start the school year prepared and ready to learn this September. With the help of local companies, organizations and individuals, Hopelink’s “Hoops for Hope” program will supply backpacks and school supplies to kids who, without help, would not have the school supplies they need.

This important event is a first of its kind ever involving the four national partners, and is a reflection of a new spirit of cooperation and shared purpose which is growing within our movement.
