Security Watch - Keeping a Real-Time Eye on Security

Safety and security have always been top priorities for financial services firms, retailers and government agencies. While video has served as a traditional surveillance tool, it lacks the ability to provide real-time data that is critical to effective response and the continued safety of employees and customers.

With the convergence of digital video, video compression and IP networking, businesses can now enhance security monitoring with wireless IP video surveillance, an Internet-based, real-time video-monitoring network. With IP video, cameras can be positioned just about anywhere without the need to adhere to strict technical requirements. Business owners, security officers and law enforcement can tap into existing video networks and work together to remotely monitor security breaches as they occur, initiate immediate calls for help and respond with greater efficiency and effectiveness. Using wireless technology, security personnel or company officers can capture images and instantaneously send them to the laptops and PDAs or directly into the vehicles of security personnel and law enforcement in the field. Furthermore, security personnel can digitally store data to enable easy and secure access for viewing, recording and conducting quick searches of specific events or figures for use in prosecution.
