Local Business Man Appointed to National Association of Workforce Boards

The National Association of Workforce Boards recently installed Michael Biskie from Williston, Fla. as board member at its quarterly meeting held Saturday, February 23 in Washington, D.C.

Biskie is director of human resources for Monterey Boats located in Williston, Fla. He is immediate past chair of CLM Workforce Connection, based in Ocala, Fla.  As a board member, Biskie has been involved in workforce development at the local level for five years and served as chair for the workforce board from 2005-2007.  Workforce Executive Director Rusty Skinner commented, “It is so critical to have a person of Michael’s caliber on the National Board at this time. We are faced with important federal budget and policy decisions that can shape the future of workforce resources in our three-county region.”

Biskie’s entire work history has been in the area of human resources, with 11 years previously spent with Raytheon Engineers and Constructors as a field human resources manager.  His understanding of the needs of both workers and employers in the workforce gives him a unique perspective on how to best utilize strategies to support the overall workforce.
