Texas Top 3:
Nursing program earns acclaim

Texas Top Three
The state of Texas recently honored the Collin College nursing program as one of Texas’ best in terms of graduation and licensure rates. The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board awarded $25,000 grants to Collin College, Stephen F. Austin State University and Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi for achieving graduation and licensure rates of 85 percent or above and by demonstrating best practices that can be replicated by other colleges. Collin College’s graduation rate was 90 percent and the pass rate on the licensure exam was 93.68 percent!

Academy of Nursing Education Fellow
Dr. Nell Ard, a professor who directs the nursing program at Collin College, has been inducted into the National League for Nursing’s Academy of Nursing Education. She joins the prestigious academy’s 65 fellows representing nursing schools and programs throughout the United States.

Exemplary Rating
For the second consecutive year, Collin College’s nursing program was designated “exemplary” by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, along with the college’s programs in real estate and child development.
