Ceremony honors 25 years of Living Legends

The Collin College Foundation is celebrating the college’s silver anniversary by honoring 25 Living Legends.

Baylor Regional Medical Center of Plano, the Citizens of McKinney, David McCall and Dr. Rick Reedy will be honored as the 2009 Living Legends at a ceremony from 5:30-8:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 7, at the new library at the Central Park Campus, 2200 W. University Drive in McKinney.

During the 25th anniversary of Collin College, the Foundation is focusing on major gifts from the community to build the scholarship endowment in order to support the ever-increasing need for student scholarships.

Thusly, the Collin College Foundation is embarking on its Naming Opportunities Program, which provides naming recognition at Collin College campuses – from buildings, rooms, conference centers and more.

The 2009 Legends Event will be the finale in conjunction with celebrating the College’s 25th Anniversary.  As part of ensuring a lasting legacy of the Living Legends, a naming opportunity has been established with a goal of raising $250,000 to name a room that recognizes the Legends on one of the campuses. More than $100,000 has been raised to date.  Photographs and profiles will be displayed near the naming site so their legacy will be a lasting memory.

For more information about the Living Legends event or sponsorship, call Mary Frazier, executive director for the Collin College Foundation, at 972.599.3143.
