Female photography students showcased in new gallery exhibition

In its upcoming show, THE ARTS gallery will showcase the work of six talented female photography students.

“femme/foto* photography scholarship exhibition” will feature the photography of Tatyana Bessmertnaya, Jennifer Hayward, Nikki Mann, Michelle Persons, Jenny Snyder and Ratchaneekorn Suttikarn, all photography scholarship students at Collin College.

The show will run from Monday, July 13-Friday, Aug. 7. Admission is free and open to the public. The gallery is located at the Spring Creek Campus, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano.

A reception is set for 6:30-8:30 p.m., Friday, July 17.

“The six photographers ranging from early 20s to a mom of four look at the lives around them with a camera,” said Elizabeth Mellott, Collin College photography professor. “The subjects might appear to be common ideas: the female body, friends, home and history. Yet, each photographer approaches their subject in a unique and daring style.”

THE ARTS
gallery summer hours are: Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-7 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

For more information about this show or future shows, visit the gallery’s website at www.ccccd.edu/THEARTSgallery or call 972.881.5873.
