“femme/foto* photography scholarship exhibition” will feature six photography scholarship students from Monday, July 13-Friday, Aug. 7. Admission is free and open to the public. The gallery is located at the Spring Creek Campus, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano. A reception is set for 6:30-8:30 p.m., Friday, July 17. Summer II classes begin Monday, July 13. Registration at Collin College can be done through CougarWeb. Students can find a log-in button to CougarWeb at the college’s website or go directly to http://cougarweb.ccccd.edu. Then go to the "Registration Tools" channel on the home tab. For help logging into the portal, call the Student Help Desk at 972.377.1777. Through CougarWeb, registration is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Students can also view the latest version of e-schedule outside of the portal at www.ccccd.edu/schedules.html. However, they will not be able to register until they log into CougarWeb. The Texas All-Star Jazz Camp 2009 is set from Sunday-Friday, July 19-24, at the Spring Creek Campus Conference Center. Special guest artists include Bill Holman and Gregg Bissonette. Students 13 years or older with at least one year of study on their instrument are welcome to apply. Tuition is $265 and $310 with lunch. The Summer Math Bridge program is designed for students entering college, who want a refresher math course before they take on college math classes. The program is set for Monday, July 20-Thursday, Aug. 6, at the Spring Creek Campus, Room H224. The course is on Monday through Thursdays from 10:10 a.m.-12:10 p.m. The campus is located at 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano. Textbooks will be provided, but students will be responsible for providing their own calculators. Space is limited. Students must complete and return an application and take a free math assessment at any Collin College campus by Friday, July 10. The deadline for registration in the Southern Methodist University (SMU) pre-admission program is Saturday, Aug. 1. The program is geared for our students who want to transfer to SMU, students with a grade point average of 2.95 with fewer than 30 transferable hours, or students with a grade point average of 2.7 with more than 30 transferable hours. The Collin College Foundation is hosting its 2009-10 Scholarship Awards Ceremony at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 6, at the Embassy Suites Frisco Hotel and Conference Center, 7600 John Q. Hammons Drive in Frisco.
