Collin College added another university to its stable of pre-admission partners.
Dallas Baptist University (DBU) became the 10th college or university to enter an agreement with Collin College providing an exclusive and easy means of transfer to earn a bachelor’s degree after completing one’s core credits.
The agreement will go into effect in the spring 2008.
“Collin College is proud to welcome Dallas Baptist University as a university partner,” Dr. J. Robert Collins, Collin College Board of Trustees chair, said. “With each partner, the program has become stronger and more popular with students. This new relationship will no doubt add something unique and distinctive to the educational experience of our students.”
As part of the program, Collin College students who are accepted into the Patriot Partner Program will receive the following perks:
· Collin College students, who meet DBU’s transfer admission requirements will be guaranteed admission to DBU.
· Patriot Partner Program students will be ensured of a seamless transfer of credits completed at Collin College and will have access to DBU advisors.
· Participating students will have access to DBU’s library, fitness center, writing center and math lab.
· Free admission to DBU athletic events. Student rates to other DBU events.
· Students will have access to scholarships.
· Students with a grade point average of 3.5 or better will have the opportunity to enter DBU’s honors program.
To enter the program, interested students must complete a DBU Application for Admission.
“The addition of DBU further strengthens the college’s hallmark pre-admission program,” Cary Israel, Collin College president, said. “We appreciate the creative ideas forged through this unique partnership. It speaks volumes about DBU’s commitment to our community and our students.”
