Hitting the links

Every month Cougar News collects interesting, funny or thought provoking links from around the World Wide Web.

Smithsonian

Months ago, the Smithsonian Institution began uploading its vast archive of photos onto Flickr. The breadth of the collection, in addition to the pure Americana and cultural value, is breathtaking.

Gladwell
If you can’t wait until Malcolm Gladwell’s newest book, check out his blog. A fine supplement.

'The Big Suck'

A fantastic true account from the war in Iraq, which was first published in the Virginia Quarterly Review, but later used in the 2007 Best American Nonrequired Reading collection, which was reviewed in Cougar News. One of the best things written last year.

Read at Work

Pretty creative. Can’t imagine George Orwell embedded in a PowerPoint.

Gone in Sixty Seconds

The eulogy for the Polaroid camera.
