Central Park construction making progress

The Central Park Campus is still operating under this acronym: TIPI. Although there still may be some "Temporary Inconvenience," the "Permanent Improvement" is quickly shining through.

Some updates from construction and renovations taking place at the McKinney campus:
  • Structural steel is currently going up for the new Student Development area on the west side of the campus.
  • The parking garage adjacent to the E wing is half finished, according to provost and vice president Dr. Thom Chesney.
  • Additionally, the new ground parking has been completed for a while and the new lighting for those areas is also finished.
  • Two new science labs are currently being used over the summer. Two others are being equipped. Two other science labs are being renovated. In all, six fully-operational science labs will be available during the fall semester.
  • The brick resurfacing on the existing edifice is near completion.
  • New, durable tile is being laid in the atrium area.
  • With the foundation poured and set, steel will soon be brought in for the new library.
