A newsletter for the students, faculty and staff of the Collin College. Published semi-monthly. For information or submissions, call 972.599.3142. Collin College enrolled 19,273 students in its credit classes for spring 2008, an increase of 7.5 percent over spring 2007. Some characteristics of the enrolled students are presented below:

  81 percent (15,671) intend to transfer to a university.
      
· 
17 percent (3,220) declared majors in workforce education programs.
     
·  
2 percent (382) are non-degree seeking.
     
·  
62 percent (11,965) are part-time students.
     
·  
38 percent (7,308) are full-time students.
     
·  
54 percent (14,442) are day* students.
      
·  
29 percent (7,624) are evening* students.
     
·  
11 percent (3,031) are distance learning* students.
     
·  
69 percent (13,213) are in-district students.
      ·  
24 percent (4,604) are out-of-district students.
     
·  
4 percent (707) are out-of-state students.
     
·  
4 percent (749) are out-of-country students. 
      ·  
67 percent (12,450) are white.
     
· 
33 percent (6,389) are ethnic minority students. 
      ·  
57 percent (10,903) are female.
     
· 43 percent (8,370) are male.

      · The average age of spring 2008 students is 25.7 years.


 *The number of students do not add to 19,273 because some students are enrolled in various combinations of day, evening and distance learning classes.
