| Chris Megert | Former Collin College music student Chris Megert, has released a new album under the stage name Chris August. Mergert has been busy with concerts in Los Angeles and New York and is working as a producer, songwriter and artist. He has also written songs for several major pop artists.

| Stacy Arias | Inside Collin County Business has named Trustee Stacy Anne Arias as one of Collin County’s 21 Leaders for the 21st Century. The award acknowledges her commitment to civic engagement and service in the community.
The accomplishments of Collin’s College Cost of Textbooks Task Force were featured in the article “Starting a Textbook Advisory Committee in the March-April 2008 issue of The COLLEGE Store, the official publication of the National Association of College Stores.

| Kris Berg | The newly published book Teaching Music through Performance in Jazz, a teacher resource guide, features a complete chapter devoted to Collin College professor of jazz Kris Berg and his composition Cobblestones.
Heather Darrow, public relations writer, won a silver Paragon Award from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations for her article "Love Comes in Thin Packages.” This national award honored a story about Collin College nursing graduate Dawn Spradling. Department Chair and professor of communications Ceilidh Charleson-Jennings has been asked to be a guest speaker for this year’s Mayborn Graduate School of Journalism Literary Nonfiction Writers Conference of the Southwest to be held in Grapevine, July 18-20.
