Guest speaker to address body image

Shannon Cutts
When you look in the mirror, what do you see? When you walk past a shop window and catch a glimpse of your body, what do you notice first?

Body image involves our perception, emotions and physical sensations about our bodies.  Body image, typically, is not based on fact, but is psychological and learned.  This learning occurs in the family, among peers, and is reinforced through cultural expectations.

Shannon Cutts, a popular speaker and songwriter, will speak on body image from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 19, at the Spring Creek Campus Conference Center. Cutts, through songs and sharing of her personal experiences, will present her successful program:  Beauty Undressed. This program takes an inside look at the powerful image industry.

Come and explore with Cutts the effects media marketing has on you, your self-esteem and your relationships with the people in your life.
