Tiffanee Arnold, department chair and professor
of dance, received the Western Illinois University
Department of Theatre and Dance Alumni Award.
Arnold was recognized as a guest artist at a special
reception, taught master classes and trained WIU
dancers on her original choreography of “Momentum.”

The Psi Beta National Honor Society in Psychology awarded Jennifer
O’Loughlin-Brooks, chapter advisor and professor of psychology, the
2007 Psi Beta/Virginia Staudt Sexton National Faculty Advisor Award
at the national convention in San Francisco.

| Dr. John Hardesty |
Dr. John Hardesty, professor of chemistry, was
awarded a U.S. patent titled “An Electrically Conductive
MDF Surface,” a modification to the manufacturing
process for an engineered wood panel that would
allow the panel to be powder coated using a relatively
environmentally benign coatings technology.

Dr. Rosemary Karr, professor of developmental education,
received the Outstanding Service to Developmental Education
Students Award from the National Association for Developmental
Education in February 2007.

Debra Morris, assistant director of purchasing, was
awarded the Collin County Governmental Purchasing
Forum’s first annual Outstanding Service Award.
For the second consecutive year, the college’s
Purchasing Department has been awarded the
Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award from the
National Purchasing Institute.

Tino Trujillo, Collin College founding trustee,
recently received the 2007 Fred Moses Minority
Business Development Award at the Plano Chamber of
Commerce’s Excellence in Business Awards Luncheon.

| Mrytle Watkins |
Myrtle Watkins, a writing consultant at the Preston
Ridge Campus Writing Center, was honored by the North
Texas Writing Center Association as their Outstanding
Tutor for 2007. Watkins was instrumental in founding
the Collin College writing centers as well as the Writing
Center Association.
