Big 8, a feisty rodeo competitor is a bitter critter, facing foreclosure on the Wyoming ranch where she rehabilitates injured rodeo cowboys. The arrival of a shocking woman named Shedevil and a one eyed Ukranian biker named Black Dog ushers in outrageous violence and horror in this shoot ‘em up, knock ‘em up, cut ‘em up comic romp that roasts the cowboy mentality of pulp western writers like Zane Grey.  Note: This production features extreme comedic violence and is not recommended for children. "Flaming Guns of the Purple Sage" will be presented by the Collin Theatre Center, in the John Anthony Theatre.  Performances are October 11-13, 17-20 at 8 p.m., with matinees on October 14, 20-21 at 2:15 p.m.  Tickets are $8 for General Admission, $6 for Students and Senior Citizens (55+). The Collin Theatre Center presents the Southwest Regional Premiere of  “columbinus,” a docu-drama written by Steven Karam and P.J. Paparelli with the United States Theatre Project. "columbinus" examines the Columbine school shooting and brings new meaning to the catch phrase "No child left behind." Set, at first, in a fictional high school in American suburbia, the action moves to Littleton, Colo. in the days leading up to and including the shootings on April 20, 1999.  Having conducted interviews with teenagers across the country and taken survivor accounts and police transcripts, the writers have created a haunting piece of theatre.  The moral, in a sense, is not that the Columbine High massacre could have been prevented, but that we should be grateful, in a culture as sprawling and violence-ridden as ours, that it does not happen every day. Note: This production contains violent situations and adult language, and is not recommended for children. “columbinus” will be presented by the Collin Theatre Center, in the Black Box Theatre. Performances are Oct. 16-20 at 8 p.m., with matinees Oct. 20-21 at 2:15 p.m.  Tickets are $8 for general admission, $6 for students and senior citizens (55+). For tickets, season subscriptions and other information call the Collin Theatre Hotline at 972.881.5100 or visit us on the web at www.collintheatrecenter.com. Note: A TDD information line for deaf patrons is available at 972.881.5950. The performance on Thursday, October 18 at 8 p.m. will be sign-interpreted for patrons who are Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing.
