Collin College participates in the Institute of International Education’s annual statistical survey of International students.
According the International Student Census data there were 730 international students* enrolled in Collin’s credit classes in fall 2006. The international students came from 87 countries.
• 56 percent (318) were part-time students. • 44 percent (412) were full-time students. • 59 percent (432) were females. • 43 percent (298) were males. • 97 percent (710) were degree seeking students. • 3 percent (20) were non-degree seeking students. • 76 percent (556) were transfer majors. • 24 percent (172) were workforce education majors. • Less than 1 percent (2) were unknown or undeclared majors. • The 10 leading countries from which students originated were: Mexico (129), India (50), Kenya (49), Republic of South Korea (29), China (28), Pakistan (28), Iran (27), Canada (26), Ivory Coast (20), and Zimbabwe (18).
*This includes only non-immigrant students on temporary visa. This does not include U.S. citizens, permanent residents, refugees, undocumented students, or individuals on B visas and students from U.S territories such as Puerto Rico, Guam, or U.S Virgin Islands.
