College hosts health, safety fair

Faculty, staff, students and the community are invited to the “Live Smart! Health and Safety Fair” from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Friday, March 2, at the Central Park Campus in McKinney.

The free event will teem with vital information for those seeking to improve, well, their vitals.

In the atrium and cafeteria of the campus, a host of tables will be chock full of information about health and safety practices. Blood drive and fire safety trailers will be available in the parking lot and seminars and speakers will take the dais inside Pike Hall and Room A319 throughout the day.

The schedule of speakers includes:

9 a.m. -- Breast Cancer Awareness - Dr. Lynn Canavan, Breast Surgeon

10 a.m. -- Cardiac Health and Wellness - Dr. Dominic Raco, Interventional Cardiologist

11 a.m. -- Stroke: Signs, Symptoms and Prevention - Dr. Reena Daniel, Internal Medicine

11 a.m. -- Why is it Sooo Hard to Quit? Smoking Cessation – Helen Good, R.N.

noon -- A Jewish View of Healing - Rabbi Parr

noon -- Well Woman Health - Dr. Gerald Luciani, Obstetrics and Gynecology

1 p.m. -- Headaches: Updated Treatment and Prevention - Dr. Easwar Sundaram Jr., Neurologist

2 p.m. -- Preventing Sports Injuries - Dr. Robert Berry, Orthopedic Surgeon
