The games return with MONOPOLY® Madness
Chris McGee. Glynda Oglesby. Andre Lewis. Victoria Fain. Julie Boudreaux. Shanna Nelson.

Other than being Collin students, they have one other identical trait -- they are all recipients of scholarships from the Collin College Foundation.

This year, the Foundation is bringing the MONOPOLY® theme back for its annual fundraiser for MONOPOLY® Madness from 7-10 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24, at The Shops at Willow Bend, 6121 W. Park Blvd., in Plano.

The goal this year is to raise $300,000 for scholarships.

The evening will begin with hors d’oeuvres and cocktails at the upscale Mustang Cafe at the north end of the mall. Music will be provided by the Collin jazz band to kick-off the evening.

Once the trumpet sounds, Mr. MONOPOLY® will lead attendees to Neiman Marcus where a number of tables with MONOPOLY® boards will be sprinkled throughout the downstairs level. In addition to the "estate" wheeling and dealing, food, drink and music will help put the “fun” in “fundraiser.” At the same time, our generous sponsors will put the “fund” in “fundraiser.”

MONOPOLY® sponsorships are still available with levels ranging from $20,000 to $1,250. Sponsorship categories include Emperor ($20,000), Crown Jewels ($10,000), Royal Robe ($5,000), Silver Chalice ($2,500), and Coat of Arms ($1,250).

In 2006, more than 50 percent of Collin students applied for financial aid and more than 2,000 requests were denied when the money ran out. A $5,000 gift can provide funds for tuition and fees for a nursing student to earn their associate’s degree. A gift of $10,000 can fund the tuition and fees for four students for one year.

To become a MONPOLY® sponsor or for more information, contact the Collin College Foundation, Inc. at 972.881.5611 or visit the website at www.ccccd.edu/monopoly .
