Banner Update
In February, the college began implementing a new software system called Banner. Banner is an integrated student, financial aid, finance and human resources system that also includes a web portal system called Luminis.

Here are a few highlights of the Banner software implementation so far:

• Student Services is learning ways to communicate with groups of students by selecting the population and generating letters or e-mail correspondence.

• Finance continues its work with Fixed Assets.

• Human Resources continues work on employee biographic, demographic and classification, position management, compensation and job management The massive system will take three years to fully implement, but project leaders are already seeing “Banner Days” as the team clears early milestones.

For more information about Banner, contact David Hoyt at
dhoyt@ccccd.edu or visit the intranet site, http://intranet.ccccd.edu/banner/index.html .
