| Chris Grooms | Professor of English Chris Grooms recently presented on local place-name research in Wales at the 41st International Congress of Medieval Studies. The international congress offers a wide range of new perspectives and discussions on literature in the medieval and early modern period. Grooms also had an opportunity to share course organization and development perspectives with faculty teaching literature surveys in the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Austria and France.

| Lisa Roy-Davis | English Professor Lisa Roy-Davis recently presented a paper at the American Literature Association Conference in San Francisco, Calif. The paper, exploring the impact of race and race-thinking on early American literature, was written as a result of her participation in Collin's Faculty Study Grant program.

| Helen Sullivan | Helen Sullivan, assistant director of the Convergence Technology Center (CTC), recently served as facilitator and presenter at the four-day IT conference Synergy06, held in Boston. Her presentation on the CTC Business Advisory Council and job skills validation process was well received with several colleges and businesses expressing interest in this process and Collin's experience.
Ellen McKinney, division secretary in the Public Relations Department, published her first novel, a murder mystery titled Best Kept Secret.
