Toni Jenkins | Dr. Toni P. Jenkins an alumni ambassador. Dr. Jenkins was one of 28 individuals honored by A&M-Commerce during the Alumni Forum. The title is the highest award an academic department can bestow upon a graduate, and it recognizes career achievements.

Linda Qualia | Dr. Linda Qualia, director of Counseling, was one of only two community college administrators published in the book, “Stories of Inspiration: Lessons and Laughter in Student Affairs,” published by the Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education. Dr. Qualia, whose story is titled “A Healing Journey,” finds herself in good company with the likes of the University of Wisconsin, American University, the University of Missouri, and others who contributed to the compilation of stories about their work in student affairs and the impact they make in students’ lives.
Dean of Social and Behavioral Sciences Gary Hodge and Regina Hughes, director of the Center for Scholarly & Civic Engagement, recently presented at the Southwest Regional P-16 Conference in Austin. Their presentation, “Engaged Scholarship: Partnering for Excellence in Student Learning Outcomes,” focused on the development and implementation of the Center for Scholarly & Civic Engagement, a program designed to bring together students, faculty and community members and involve them in academic initiatives to spotlight scholarship, community involvement and leadership. Conference officials billed the presentation as the “model” program for scholarly and civic engagement.
The Wellness Team Challenge winners for spring 2006 were announced. The grand prize winners were Donna Okaro’s Queen’s Bees and Peggy Breedlove’s Beat the Nuts. Runners up were: Do-Nuts of Allen, Allen; Caldwell Ladies, Central Park Campus; Courtyard Cougars, Courtyard Center for Professional and Economic Development; Retro Dog Walkers, Preston Ridge Campus; Health Nuts, Spring Creek Campus; B.S. Team, Rockwall. The Spirit Award was given to Toni Jenkins’ Leadership Team.

Collin's Men's and Women's Tennis teams finished third and sixth, respectively, in their national tournaments after winning their Region V Championships. This is the 16th straight year that the men's team has won the Region V Championship.
