Career Week’s roadtrip a great ride
By Lydia Gober Director of Career Services and Co-op
“Career Week 2006: Travels in Careering” resulted in some outstanding information about careers and ways to work with choosing a career.
More than 1,400 students participated in the activities including “Roadtrips” to professional image, careers in science, psychology, sociology and hospitality fields. Collin students did an excellent job of interviewing career professionals and bringing out helpful information to the students in attendance.

One of the many dynamic sessions was “Speedbumps & Detours: Successful Careers for Travelers with dis-Abilities” providing interviews of three successful professionals who face special challenges and still find career paths to be exciting and rewarding.
The culminating activity of Career Week was a business etiquette luncheon/workshop where 39 students learned how to conduct business during a formal meal presented by Professor Karen Musa of the hospitality program.
