Byrd Williams, Chair of the Collin photography department.
The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston purchased 16 prints for exhibition from Byrd Williams, Collin photography department chair. Ten of the photographs were Williams’ work and six others were shots taken by his father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Some of the prints date back to the late 19th century. Williams was asked by museum curator Anne Tucker to present his work to the board of trustees, who voted to purchase the 16 pieces, which are being exhibited in the “New Acquisitions” portion of the museum. In printing photos taken by his father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Williams used latter-day processes and materials in order to show the photos as they originally would have been printed.

Director of Continuing Education Janet Sheppard was interviewed briefly by Al Roker while standing outside The Today Show studios in New York City Dec. 6. True to her commitment and dedication to the college, Sheppard said in the interview that Collin is the “best college in Texas.”
