Successful Mixer Benefits Top Teens of America

Black professionals within the City of Austin gathered Thursday, November 13th for a professional networking mixer to benefit the Top Teens of America Foundation. The event was held at the Carver African American Museum. Generous monetary donations as well as band-aid supplies were given in support of the foundation. Various speakers of the evening included councilwoman Sheryl Cole, NAACP Austin President Nelson Linder, Brian Marshall of Dell and Dr. Chiquita W. Eugene of the CCAACC. The evening concluded with an appreciation award presentation of a certificate and $25 gift card to Mr. Linder and Mrs. Cole.

Organizations such as the National Association of Black Accountants, Austin Black Lawyers Association, Blacks in Government as well as Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity were also in attendance. Roger Davis of the NABA Austin Cen-tex Chapter, who helped sponsor the mixer, was grateful for the community’s participation.

“We are very thankful for everyone that came out to show their support. We are hopeful that everyone will become a member of every great organization that was there and follow through on challenges that Mr. Linder presented to us as a community. We don’t expect everyone to be a member of EVERY organization, but we hope for them to at least pick one.” said Mr. Davis.

  • Complete 8 hours of New Volunteer Training
  • A commitment of just 3hrs/wk, or a total of 36 hours, between January and April
  • CPE credits are offered for CPA’s that receive their IRS certification and volunteer the 36 hours requested
  • A desire to give back to YOUR community
