Did you know? Earlier this month Austin was listed #1 on the Forbes’ list for Best Places for Business and Careers. The City’s Small Business Development Program (SBDP) together with the Austin Asian-American Chamber of Commerce, the Capital City African-American Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce recognize that local artists, too, make a significant contribution to our local economy.

To continue the reputation of Austin being business friendly, to help create jobs, and to enhance our community’s quality of life and holding true to fundamental community values, these four organizations, are coming together for a common purpose.

SBDP and its three partner minority chambers are hosting an ARTISTS’ RECEPTION to honor six local women of diverse backgrounds, coming together all under one roof, to celebrate cultural vitality and to apprise the community of this unique Artists’ Marketplace at the Small Business Assistance Center.

Exhibit space for artists participating in future shows will be heavily promoted. Additionally, through this event, SBDP’s services and those of the various Service Providers will be made known to the artist-entrepreneur community and guests.

Featured artists include: Lynda J. Coleman, Cecilia Colomé, Gretchen Garst, Jan Middleton Roset, Rama Tiru, and Kathryn Watts-Martinez.

Join us for a vibrant evening with the opportunity to meet the artists, make new business contacts, enjoy live music provided by Cerronato, partake of refreshments, and maybe even win a door prize!

Make plans to attend ------------ Wednesday, June 4th from 6 to 8 p.m.
4100 Ed Bluestein Blvd. (Use Center’s NORTH entrance)
