New Bicycle Parking Demo

Capital Metro is testing a new form of bicycle parking at the Pavilion Park & Ride. The BikeLid is a safe and eco-friendly bicycle parking product that provides full-sized bikes complete protection from vandalism, theft and weather elements.

The no-cost, permanent demonstration was coordinated through the City of Austin’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Program and BikeLid Systems, LLC. Frequent use and positive customer feedback may influence Capital Metro to purchase and install BikeLids at current and future passenger facilities throughout the system.

BikeLids are currently being used in many cities throughout the nation including, Portland, New York City, and Tampa. The BikeLid is made from industrial plastic waste materials and recycled steel. It’s also 100% recyclable.

Commuters can learn how to use the BikeLid by following the simple instructions posted on the shell.
