Camus to Introduce Global Marketing Campaign at VinExpo

Camus Cognac will unveil a new global marketing campaign at the VinExpo international wine and spirits exhibition June 19-23 in Bordeaux, France.

Called “Camus & Us,” the campaign highlights the memorable moments that consumers create, share and celebrate over a glass or bottle of Camus’ cognac. The graphics, which feature sensual, black-and-white photographs taken by Parisian artist Francois Marquet, make a striking contrast to color images of Camus’ premium products, including Camus XO, VSOP and Napoleon.

In addition, Camus will introduce at VinExpo a new company logo – the first redesign of a logo that represented the family-owned and -operated company for more than 140 years.

Featured Product: Joséphine

A celebration of the senses, Camus’ Joséphine is the first cognac created especially for women. A blend of more than 80 cognac grapes predominantly from the Borderies region, Joséphine is aged in old oak barrels from the Limousin forest to create a sweet, gentle taste with vanilla scents and subtle undertones of chestnut that appeal to a woman’s delicate palette. Complementing the cognac is striking packaging that features a romantic print from Czech artist Alphonse Mucha that earned Joséphine a gold medal at the 2003 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. In 2004, Wine Enthusiast bestowed its coveted “Superb, Highly Recommended” rating to Josephine and touted the spirit a “bargain” cognac in its annual Best Buy issue.

Enjoying Cognac: Camus Brings Asian Influence to U.S. Hot Spot

Following a recent trip to Japan, Camus’ executives brought back to the United States a new and trendy way to enjoy premium cognac: iced. From June 13 through August 13, guests at Miami Beach’s fashionable Delano Hotel can enjoy chilled servings of Camus’ Joséphine paired with innovative sushi and sashimi selections at the Blue Sea sushi bar.

While cognac is traditionally enjoyed at room temperature, Japanese cognac-lovers freeze the spirit for 24 hours to create a thicker, mellower texture that, in turn, is easier to consume and produces a floral aftertaste that warms in the mouth.

The Delano Hotel on Miami Beach is a world-class, casual-chic resort offering a relaxing retreat in the middle of one of the world’s most vibrant and fashionable cities. For more information about the hotel, visit www.delanohotel.com. For more information about the summer sushi and chilled cognac pairing at the hotel’s Blue Sea sushi bar, call (305) 674-6400.

Camus Makes a Splash from Coast to Coast

Camus is continuing to expand its distribution throughout the United States. The company recently announced the availability of its products in Connecticut, New Jersey, Texas and New Mexico.

In addition, the company is serving up gastronomic excitement at major events, including the Tribeca Film Festival, the opening-night reception for the Broadway performance of A Streetcar Named Desire and the annual Lower Manhattan Cultural Council fundraising dinner.

Taste, Experience Camus at Maya in New York City

Acclaimed chef Richard Sandoval serves up authentic Mexican food with updated style at Maya, the first Mexican restaurant in New York City to receive a top-50 Zagat rating. Named by New York magazine as Chef of the Year in 2003, Sandoval creates modern Mexican dishes that explode with flavor and texture.

Signature entrees include Carnitas Maya, which is pork tenderloin and shoulder served with black bean-requeson huarache, avocado puree and red onion-orange salsa; Salmon Norteño served with red bean pureé, cactus and a chile pasilla sauce; and Pechuga Adobada, which is adobo-marinated chicken breast served with warm pico de gallo, cilantro pesto and huitlacoche-manchego cheese dumplings. Dessert ranges from a traditional flan to warm crepes with caramelized goat milk and bananas topped with cinnamon ice cream and walnuts.

Located at 1191 First Ave. at 64th Street, Maya is open for dinner Sundays and Mondays from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Tuesdays through Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 5 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. To make a reservation, call (212) 585-1818 or visit http://www.modernmexican.com/mayany/.
