Bureau of Dangerous Goods Releases 2005 Training Schedule
by Training Department

The Bureau of Dangerous Goods has released the 2005 commercial training schedule. This schedule has been expanded so as to include both new offerings and variations of our ground and air training seminars.

A review of the schedule will show that several new “specialty” courses have been added in 2005. For those individuals needing specific training in the shipping of Infectious Substances two classes will be offered in Monroe, New Jersey. A one-day class addressing the training needs of those employees involved in the selection of hazardous material packaging will also be offered in New Jersey.

Currently one of the most attended courses is the 2-day CFR Title 49 initial training class. Two variations of this class will be offered in 2005. A 1-day class designed for those individuals who are peripherally involved with the hazardous material transportation phase. This class will not be as in-depth as the 2 and 3 day classes and is offered for those who need a very general overview of the regulations and requirements of CFR Title 49.

There also will be a 3-day offering. This class is patterned along the lines of the current 2-day offering. The 3-day class will offer an expanded lesson plan that will address not only the preparation of the material for transport but also administrative regulations. Enforcement, federal hazardous material registration, and exemptions are just some of the additional areas covered in the 3-day class.

Do your employees need training in both air and ground transportation? A 3-day combination class covering both of those modes of transportation has been added to the schedule in July of 2005.

As the year moves forward check the web site and newsletter for the introduction of the newest training seminar. A multiple day training program in regulations for shipping by ocean will be offered. A mid year offering is currently planned.

Despite the expanded schedule the Bureau still has dates available for on-site trainings. To view the schedule please visit the web site located at www.bureaudg.com.
