Autumn produce is here and it's a welcome change, as every season is. We've all enjoyed those vine-ripe tomatoes, summer squash, peaches, nectarines and the cornucopia of nature's treats we’ve devoured during the long summer. But with the cooler air comes a bounty of new ingredients to satisfy our cravings. You'll see butternut squash, pumpkins, pomegranates, lots of root vegetables, onions, leeks, wild mushrooms, leafy greens, tender green beans, even a fall crop of artichokes. Roy and his staff are working on NEW RECIPES to lure you to our cases. |

For Halloween, Prepared Foods will offer Jack-ó-Lantern Soup, Goblin Finger Hot Dogs, and Crispy Bat Wings (chicken).
Sandwich sales are up, and our new Panini machine is getting a real workout in this cooler weather. If you have three or four extra minutes, try a piping Hot Panini, filled with Hormel meat, cheese and your choice of add-ons.

Sushi Counter is constantly changing the selections and has been working his magic early, before lunch, and preparing a fresh round for the evening crowd. Sales have increased in spite of the change in weather.
The soup counter is hard to pass up as well with homemade standards like Chicken Noodle, Broccoli-Cheddar, Minestrone, Tomato Bisque, plus some exotics such as Manuel's Posole, Texas-style Chili and Tortilla Soup. And don't forget the corn bread!
And yes, Thanksgiving is coming up soon! Watch for our special Holiday Package with all the trimmings. We want to raise the bar this year and Roy's been working on the recipes for weeks.

We'll also be offering Brown Sugar-Crusted Spiral-Cut Hams and Pork Loin Crown Roasts with Brandied Apricot Glaze with ADVANCE ORDER as supplies last.
Well be taking orders beginning November 1st, with tasting of most items available every day. Turkeys have been pre-ordered and we'll be unable to add more when they're gone. Please come in for a taste and place your orders as early as possible. Watch for more details in the store and online soon!
