Take advantage of the fruits and vegetables in season by picking the freshest produce at Bentley’s Produce Department!

September is a good time for Mushrooms – one of nature’s hidden secrets!  Mushrooms are not only an important part of a nutritious diet, but they complement almost any meal.  They are so easy to sauté and add texture and flavor to your meals.  Add sliced mushrooms to your salads, soups, and pasta; use them to decorate your vegetable platters; or, include them to your stir-fry.

Cauliflower also finds its season in September.  This great veggie brings great power to comfort-food classics like cauliflower with cheese sauce and gourmet purées.  Roasted cauliflower with olive oil, garlic and seasonings are delicious.  Add fresh cauliflower to your soups or stews; eat them raw with dressing or dip for a nutritious, crunchy appetizer; or stir cooked cauliflower into mashed potatoes to enhance their texture.

Stone fruit is coming to an ending soon.  They will be available through the end of September.  Peaches, Nectarines, Plums, and Apricots are still very sweet, juicy and ripe.  Come into Bentley’s and pick some up before the season comes to an end!

Remember, “Fresh makes it best!”
