Your BBB received an unsolicited fax from America Find, Inc. the other day offering to do background searches, find missing persons and even search credit card transactions and unlisted telephone numbers! They gave a toll free phone number to call.

When the BBB receives such a fax, we check them out by doing a search on our national database. You see, we figure that if the BBB is receiving such faxes, that most other businesses in the South Plains do too! We found a report out of the BBB Houston on this company which indicates that the company has an unsatisfactory record due to unresolved complaints.

We checked further on the company's website (www.americafind.com) and we noticed that: 

1)  This company does not have a privacy policy posted; and
2)  When you go to "pay" for their services ($99 to almost $200), they ask for payment information, but that information is not being given on a "secure" server

Bottom line:  BBB advises caution.
