Your Better Business Bureau received a mailing from PCL COMPLIANCE SERVICE DEPARTMENT on March 1 indicating that if certain employment-related posters were not displayed in our offices that we could be fined up to $17,000! It got our attention!
After further examination, we realized that this was simply a solicitation for our business. The mailing made it seem like we must purchase the posters from them; however, most of the posters can be found in one of our local stationery stores.
Most agencies that mandate the posting of signs in businesses furnish those signs at no charge. Further, any enforcement activities related to failure to post such material are generally directed at those companies that cause the agency the most concern. This company is in the BBB Colton, California service area and you may wish to view their report at www.labbb.org.
It is totally up to you whether or not you want to order these materials from this company. Your BBB suggests that you verify whether the posting of these signs is required AND to check out your local stationery store first.
