It might be easier to accept the multitude of costs and inconveniences associated with having your car towed if you park alongside a red curb, in a loading zone, in front of a driveway, or in some other place where you know you’re not supposed to park.  But when you’re towed from a legal parking place, slapped with illegal towing and storage fees, refused information as to who authorized the tow or why you were towed, and your car is damaged, personal items pilfered, and finally you’re brushed off with rudeness and sarcasm by the very people who copped your car, it’s not so easy.

Here’s the catch:  Auto lease companies offer to sublease vehicles for consumers who want to free themselves from lease payments, at least for a while, and who can get along without their car, at least for a while.  But sooner or later the companies renege on the promises in both their advertising and their contract, the consumers can lose more than money, and often they still have to get along without their car--sometimes forever.
