Licensed contractors in California are required to have a $12,500 contractor’s bond for the benefit of, among others, the contractor’s clients who may be damaged should the contractor violate the Contractors’ State License Law.  If you’re the one damaged, what can you do?

Here’s the catch:  You know about yellow-page ad solicitors, toner phoners, and medical and chemical supplies outfits that fake or finagle orders for merchandise you don’t want and hit you with mega charges for them.  Now there’s a more-of-the-same company that might catch you off guard because it’s peddling a different product.

Legislation was enacted this last fall to prohibit the use of cell phones while driving unless some means of hands-free use, such as a headset or speaker phone, is employed.
