Our Accredited Businesses Put it Together by Gathering Clues
If you didn't attend our appreciation event for our accredited businesses on Thursday, October 15th, you were left in the dark.

The highlight of the evening was a murder mystery performance hosted by Red Herring Productions where guests enthusiastically gathered clues in order to discover who committed the murder!

The winning "detective" was Dr. Joe Rota of Rota & Smith Dental Center. He solved the crime when he concluded that Roxie Potts killed Willie 'da Snitch because she was in love with Quentin.

This half-hour program is hosted by Carol Odell, your BBB executive director and Katie Carrol, the BBB's director of media relations and communications.

You can also find it on our Web site at www.southerncolorado.bbb.org/programs/ and on the PPLD Web site at http://ppldtv.pegcentral/. PPLD is also planning to air one segment a week on YouTube. We'll send you the link as soon as it's in place.

Tell the World How Great You Are!
by Katie Carrol - Director of Media Relations and Communications

As you know, our new ratings system that was launched in January of 2009 allows us to assign letter grades to companies anywhere from A+ through F. The use of the new ratings is almost limitless! The grades give you an opportunity to promote your business, increase sales and let consumers know you are a company that can be trusted.

You may now use your letter grade in print ads including newspapers, billboards and brochures. The only limitation is annual publications, such as the Yellow Pages, because of the extended shelf life of this particular medium. If you particpate in BBB Online, you may display your rating on your Web site. You can also use it in television ads and, of course, on your business cards.

If you have any questions about usage, please contact carlad@bbbsc.org or at 719-389-1085.

Carol on Comcast!
by Katie Carrol - Director of Media Relations and Communications

Our own Carol Odell was recently interviewed by Comcast to talk about your BBB. The five-minute piece will air on CNN's "Headline News" segment which will be broadcast on Channel 31 the entire month of November throughout southern Colorado. Her interview will run several times a day at five minutes before the hour.

Carol spoke about the BBB, what it means to be an accredited business and the services we offer to consumers.

In December, the interview will be available on Comcast's Video on Demand under the file titled "Newsmakers."

Our Accredited Businesses are Excellent!
by Cat Eli - Director of Events and Marketing

Do you want to make more money and keep your customers happy at the same time?

Then our Excellence in Customer Service (EICS) Program is for you. EICS is a tool that allows businesses to examine and then improve their existing customer service operations. It’s designed to build profitable relationships in order to keep those customers coming back!

To get started, you’ll need to complete an application describing your organization. You’ll then be asked to complete seven in–depth essay questions about your customer service approach, the execution of that approach and the results you have achieved as a result of these practices.

If improving your business is important to you, come join us for this application writing workshop. We’ll help you get a jump start on this valuable program.

The workshop will be held on Tuesday, November 3rd at Colorado Technical University located at 4435 N. Chestnut Street in Colorado Springs. All businesses are welcome!

Check in is at 7:45 a.m. and the workshop will be held from 8 a.m. to noon.

To RSVP, please contact Kelly Clark at 719-636-5076, ext. 128 or kellyc@bbbsc.org.
