VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: B&I Task Force
The Austin CPA Chapter is always looking for new ways to serve our members who work in business and industry (as opposed to public practice), so we’re forming a task force to focus exclusively on issues affecting our B&I members. Contact Diane Joiner for more info.

Summer CPE Offerings
We’re only in the first couple of weeks of summer and already into triple digit temperatures. Get out of the heat and into our cool training room for one or more of our CPE Courses in July or August.

Record Turnout for Free CPE Expo
On June 17th, the Austin CPA Chapter hosted its third Free CPE Expo for members only as our thank you for your continued membership in TSCPA and the Austin Chapter. Click here to see the pictures, download materials and view sponsor information. You are all very much appreciated!

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: Financial Literacy Task Force
Are you interested in participating in the Chapter’s financial literacy programs for the coming year? The Financial Literacy Task Force will have its first meeting of the year on Thursday, July 16th at 8am to brainstorm on ways to get financial literacy information out to the various publics. Please RSVP to Diane Joiner if you plan to attend so she can have an accurate count for breakfast tacos.

Get Involved With Chapter Community Service Events
Sheri DeSpain, Community Involvement Manager, has set up recurring events at the Capital Area Food Bank and Round Rock Area Serving Center. In order to accommodate these and our other community service events, the Chapter has set up a Community Calendar. Click here for more info and sign up today.

After-Expo Networking Event
The Chapter hosted a networking event immediately following the Expo at Casa Chapala. It’s exactly what was needed since we had many people attend! Click here to see the pictures.

Financial Literacy Training for Churches and Similar Organizations
To keep with our ongoing public education series, Chapter Members Gail Neely and Katy Avenson have created a Financial Training Course for Churches and Similar Organizations to be held on Wednesday, August 5, noon. We need your assistance in spreading the word on this public service event. Click here for more information.

CFOs of the Year
15 Austin Chapter members were among the 49 nominees in the Austin Business Journal’s CFO of the Year awards this year. Not too shabby! Read all about the awards ceremony.
