Great Turnout at Students Meet the Firms Networking Event

MEMBER PERSPECTIVE: Volunteering on the Board of Greenlights

CPAs Walk to Raise Awareness for Leukemia & Lymphoma
On Saturday, October 24, the Austin CPA Chapter Light the Night Walk Team met to help raise funds and awareness for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Our great team included Mike & Misty Hildebrandt, Paul & Karizma Matthews, Brent Robins and Kaira Tanwar who raised $485 to date. Click here to make a donation today. MEMBER PERSPECTIVE: Skillpoint Alliance College and Career Fair

Build Your Network
You can build a network of other CPAs from around the state by serving on a TSCPA committee. Dec. 11 is the deadline to volunteer for the 2010-2011 service year. Study the list of available committees in the Volunteer member community (member log-in required), and contact Diane Joiner if you see something you’d like.
 
AIDS Services of Austin just $3K Under Walk Goal!
Carlee Perez, a brand new Texas CPA, made big efforts to form a team and participate in the 2009 AIDS Walk Austin. AIDS Services of Austin is only $3,000 short of their goal from this year’s walk and donations are still being accepted. Click here to see Carlee’s pictures from the walk.
 
Scholarship Fundraising Raffle – Tickets Only $20!
The Austin CPA Chapter Scholarship Fundraising Committee has approved another raffle for this year. Grand prize is a Trip for Two (valued up to $2500), Second Prize is a Solitaire Diamond Necklace (valued at $1500), Third Prize is a 42” Flat Panel TV, Fourth Prize is a Nintendo Wii and five (5) $50 Visa Gift Cards will be given out as Runner-up Prizes. Only 1,000 tickets will be printed and the drawing will take place at the January 22, 2009 member meeting. Purchase your tickets today!
 
CPAs COUNT! at the Austin Civic Chorus
Many thanks to the Chapter volunteers who served at the Austin Civic Chorus’ fall concert on October 17th.  Elaine Hanks, CPA, Victoire van der Pas, CPA, Diana Sullivan, CPA, and John Sullivan ushered and worked the ticket sales table at the event. The 100 member chorus sang Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass and Handel's Jubilate for the Peace at Utrecht. Check out the photos.
