Participate on the Safety Committee
If you are already a member of the ASCPA’s ASP program, then consider joining our Safety Committee. The Safety Committee meets quarterly over lunch to review the quarterly claims report. We review the injuries on the report to determine ways to keep our members and their employees safe and injury free. The information is used to form safety training seminars for our members and their staff. Our Safety Committee members also write safety articles for our electronic newsletter. Productivity in the Workplace and Ergonomics
Office safety may not be high on the list of most CPAs and business professionals, but it is something the Arizona Society of CPAs has on its radar at least twice a year. The Society puts together two programs on office safety for our members each year. The latest program on June 25 dealt with ergonomics and what we should be looking for to make sure we avoid injuries like carpal tunnel, eye or back strain. The instructor, David Purves did a great job of educating our members in attendance. In case you missed it, here is his article on this topic.
