Status Report - 811
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approved the use of 811 as the national call-before-you-dig telephone number on March 20, 2005. Although implementation is expected to be completed by April 2007, states and organizations have made progress on a local, regional and national level.

Among developments that the New Year will bring for the oil pipeline industry is the long anticipated arrival of “clean” diesel fuel – known more formally as ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD). 
A pipeline by any other name…is still a pipeline. But the industry divides the nation’s approximately two million miles of oil and natural gas pipeline into three categories: gathering, transmission, and distribution.
Although he’s quick to modestly put himself into the “employee” ranks of the oil pipeline industry, Ben Cooper is viewed somewhat differently by Capitol Hill. For the past nine years, he’s been considered one of the most respected and effective voices for the oil pipeline industry.
After the first week of January many people seem to forget about the holidays. But because of Shell’s generosity, the children at Pointe-aux-Chenes Elementary (La.) will be able to keep the spirit of the season going long after the holidays end.
