Status Report - 811
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approved the use of 811 as the national call-before-you-dig telephone number on March 20, 2005. Although implementation is expected to be completed by April 2007, states and organizations have made progress on a local, regional and national level.

PHMSA Posts OQ Meeting Documents, Extends Comment Period

Materials from the public operator qualification meeting held in December and a new concept paper will be posted by the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) under Docket No. 19857.  To obtain these materials, go to Docket No. 19857. The revised concept paper is available at New 2006 Revised Concept Paper (pdf).

PHMSA requests public comment on these matters. Comments on the progress of operator qualification programs are due by Jan. 20, 2006. Comments aimed at the potential for strengthening operator qualification programs and the revised concept paper are due by Feb. 10, 2006.
