Homeland Security Loses Top Officials

Admiral James Loy, the deputy secretary for the Department of Homeland Security, announced plans to resign late last year. His announcement comes on the heels of the resignation of Department Secretary Tom Ridge.

Loy, who previously served as the administrator for the Transportation Security Administration, oversaw pipeline safety matters. Frank Libutti, undersecretary for information analysis and infrastructure protection, has also announced his resignation.
