Part of belonging to a chamber of commerce is the 'privileges' that come with membership. These can be classified into three categories:
1. Indirect benefits - networking, endorsement, advocacy on your behalf, etc.
2. Direct benefits - fuel discounts, special long distance and internet rates, Visa and M/C rates, etc.
3. Chamber "Service" - Unlike #1 and #2--which are common to all chambers--Smithers District Chamber of Commerce "services" are the ones unique to your chamber. As a member, you are invited to consider using our services. They may just be the "one thing" that is needed to take your business to the next level.

Here is a list of the chamber's most popular services. Fees are current but are subject to change.

* Mystery Shopper - A confidential evaluation of your business. You specify the areas to be examined.
Fee: $200 (Chamber members - 50% off).

* SuperHost - Professionally delivered "customer service" workshops delivered by certified SuperHost facilitators. Fees reflect a 50% subsidy provided by the Tourism Advisory Committee and the Smithers District Chamber of Commerce. Fees include facilitator, venue, book, refreshments & certificate.
SuperHost Fundamentals (full day): $42.50 plus GST
Solution Series (half day)$17.50 plus GST
Frontline Management Solutions (full day) $75.00 plus GST

* Business After Hours - An 'open house' for your business coordinated and advertised by your chamber. This includes two email blasts to chamber membership; radio advertising; posting on the "events" site of www.TourismSmithers.com; coordination of local media; a custom designed sandwich board place in front of your business; (Alpine Al on request, $50).

* Ribbon Cutting Ceremony - For the opening of a new business or a new business location. Includes ribbon and decorated scissors; also includes two email blasts to chamber membership; radio advertising; posting on the "events" site of www.TourismSmithers.com; coordination of local media; a custom designed sandwich board placed in front of your business; (Alpine Al on request - $50).

* Sod Turning Ceremony - For the start of construction of a new building. Includes decorated spade; 2 email blasts to chamber membership; radio advertising; posting to "events" site of www.TourismSmithers.com; coordination of local media; a custom designed sandwich board placed in front of your intended building site; (Alpine Al, on request $50).

Marketing:
* Email Blasts to chamber membership.
Fee: $50 plus GST.
* Newsletter (hard copy) inserts.
Fee: $62 plus GST
* Banner Ads in eNewsletter.
Fee: $62 plus GST

* Business Luncheons
Fee: $12 (includes lunch, business card draw & speaker presentation).

* Bell Presentation - Business person gives a 5 minute presentation at a chamber luncheon, prior to 'main' presentor. Bell sounds 'start' & 'finish' of presentation.
Fee: $25

* Stamp Shop.

* Souvenirs (Smithers 'logo' clothing, Smithers stuffed animals)

* CAP (Commumnity Acccess Point) - High Speed internet, scanning and printing for general public.
Fee: Free (except printing $0.25/copy)
