Texas Hold 'Em or Go Fish!
Only a Few Cards are Remaining
We think we've found a really unique way to help our Chamber members promote their business through sponsorship of one or more cards in 3,000 decks featuring Allen amenities, landmarks, city facilities, recreational areas and families. The cards will end up in the hands of new residents, new teachers and visitors to our community through the Chamber's distribution efforts. Interested in learning more about this great opportunity? Sponsor and registration information is available on the Chamber's website at www.allenchamber.com. Questions or need additional information? Contact chamber staff at 972-727-5585 or go directly to the source - Tim Alder, RM Communications Group, 817-488-1669. The County Line
by County Commissioner Joe Jaynes
In the 2003 county bond election, voters approved $11 million in bonds so Collin County could again partner with local cities and nonprofit organizations in the acquisition and development of more parks and open spaces. Last year, the Commissioners Court awarded over $1.7 million, which will assist in the creation/addition of over $17 million worth of parks projects countywide. Last month, the Commissioners Court awarded more than $2.1 million for the second round of open space grants from the 2003 bond. Next year, Collin County will sell another $2 million in bonds and will continue the grant process. Once the dates are available, the information will be posted on the county website at www.collincountytx.gov. I strongly encourage cities and nonprofit organizations to take advantage of this program. Whether it's parks, roads or health care, we can accomplish more through partnerships.
