The County Line
by County Commissioner Joe Jaynes
The Outer Loop is a future thoroughfare, which is ultimately planned to connect I-35 in Denton County to I-20 in Kaufman County. For the past two years, Collin County has been conducting Phase I of the corridor study, from the Denton County Line to US 75. The study for Phase II is soon to get underway. Our first town hall meeting on Phase II of this study will be on Thursday, February 24 at 6.30pm with an Open House and meeting at 7.00pm at Melissa High School located at 3150 Cardinal Drive. This will be the first of several town hall meetings and city council presentations on this roadway east of US 75. Our goal is to receive public feedback and eventually establish a route that is citizen friendly so that as cities grow and plan they can use this as a tool with regards to zoning and set-back requirements.
