It seems really hard to believe that we are almost at year-end. My year as board chair has really flown by. As my term draws to a close, I asked the staff to prepare a list of all the things we had accomplished during 2003. As I reviewed the list, I was astounded at all we had done this past year. But it’s not just the quantity -- the quality of those events kept coming to mind.

MISSION: RETENTION
Thank you to the Ambassadors and other Chamber volunteers who participated in our Mission: Retention campaign on December 5, 2003. The purpose of this event was to contact Chamber members and encourage them to renew their investment for inclusion in the upcoming 2004 Business Directory and Member Referral Guide. The following Chamber members participated Dr. Richard Bush, Jimmy Trickett, Donna Niewold, Al Holmes, Greg Patterson, Patricia Watson and John Stufflebeam. Over 100 members were contacted thanks to their efforts. A thank you celebration will be held for them after the first of the year.

Lunchbox Learning Series
The Chamber's next Lunchbox Learning Series will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2003 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn. Mike Mirau of Personnelity Performance Solutions will present information on "Time Strategies in a Digital Age". The cost is $15 for members and $20 for prospective members. Reservations can be made by calling 972-727-5585. This new series of workshops began in September with approximately 20 people attending the previous seminars.

An Affair to Remember
Mark your calendars now for Celebrate Allen on Saturday, January 24, 2004 at the Renaissance Hotel in Richardson. The event is co-sponsored by the Allen Chamber of Commerce, the Allen Philharmonic Symphony and The Foundation for Allen Schools. More details will be published in the coming weeks. Leadership Allen Class XV
Leadership Allen Class XV spent Friday, November 21st learning about local health and human service programs offered by various organizations in and near Allen. The Class gained valuable insight about potential opportunities for individual volunteer service work to fulfill requirements for graduating the Leadership Allen program.
