In accordance with the by-laws of the Allen Chamber of Commerce, a Nominating Committee, chaired by Bob Rothe and consisting of Izzie Waller, Danny McLarty, Josie Zendejas and Sharon Mayer, has nominated a slate of five (5) individuals to serve as Directors of the Allen Chamber of Commerce beginning in January 2003 and continuing until their terms expire in 2005 or until a replacement is named.

Nothing But Networking

The next Nothing But Networking luncheon is scheduled for Tuesday, November 19, 2002 at Brazos Cattle Company. The buffet luncheon will begin promptly at 11:30 so networking can begin by 12:00 noon.

Improvements on the way!

The Chamber's web site (www.allenchamber.com) will soon have a new look. We are in the process of improving our web site to provide more up-to-date information. Links are provided on our current site for Member Buy Member participants, Service and Retail Award winners, ribbon cutting photos and archived newsletter editions. The new site will contain these links and more.

The November Business After Hours will be hosted by Texans Credit Union at 325 Central Expressway South (next to Albertson's) on November 21st from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. Come meet others in the Chamber and the Allen community. It's a great way to end your day!

Another year of leadership training got underway as LA Class XIV participated in an orientation session that featured a ropes course last month.
Home for the Holidays

It's hard to believe that the holiday shopping season is so quickly approaching. The Chamber would like to remind you that Allen retailers have much to offer and that shopping in Allen helps promote and maintain a healthy economy. Home for the Holidays, in its eighth year, is a program designed to encourage shopping locally.
