Texas Recycles Day
November 15th
Texas Recycles Day is an annual statewide awareness program designed to inform Texans of the environmental and economic benefits of waste reduction and recycling. Keep Texas Beautiful and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality partner in this program to encourage Texans to help preserve our natural resources by focusing on the Four Rs: reduce, reuse, recycle and rebuy.
Practicing the Four Rs not only decreases the amount or garbage thrown away, but is also conserves natural resources, saves energy, and reduces the amount of landfill space used each year. In keeping with the Texas Recycles Day message, Keep Texas Beautiful chose to reuse the theme from 2003 - Texas Recycles Every Day - to reinforce the goal of motivating Texans to make recycling part of their everyday lives.
Events will be held statewide from mid-October through November 15, highlighting the numerous solutions for simple and inexpensive waste reduction and recycling. For more information, visit their website at www.texasrecyclesday.org or call Keep Texas Beautiful at 1-800-CLEAN-TX. Plan your TRD event now, and help teach Texans to reduce, reuse, recycle, and rebuy...Every Day!
